Club of physical education (TJ) Tatran [ Sports-club ]

This sports club was founded in 1952 by some enthusiasts of football. The founders were Mr. Gross, Sokol, Vašek, Vichr, Ambrož, Vlček, Kardačinský. A chairman was elected Mr. Kardačinský. Together with football club clubs of table tennis and chess were founded. The best chessplayer of Ostrava region was Mr. Vichr. The first sponsor of club of physical education was the firm BARABA, building of dam of Kružberk.

A piece of land for building playground was bought of the former button factory. The first competitors were teams of Vítkov and Budišov. With the help of stone industry in Heřmánky a skatingrink started to be built in 1953 and an ice-hockey club was founded whose lifetime was in 1962 - 1968. Then it started to wasteaway as well as swimming pool did. Up to this day some props were preserved. In 1955 volleyball started to be organized that became extinct after a few years. In 1953 pupils entered for a football competition. Young competitors play a regular competition since 1962. The first cloak-rooms for the players were built in the wooden hall of the Inn At Pavelka's near to the butoon factory. In 1958 a building of swimming pool began and these cloak-rooms served later for football club. Into leadership was elected Mr. Malinka who was alternated by Mr. and then followed Mrs. Kutějová Dobra, Mik Josef and Běťák Karel. At this time the footballers succeded with cyclic success. In 1966 they advanced for the first time to district championship. As the clubs (except of football) were founded, women founded a ZRTV club. Beginnings of their origin date back to 1978. Founders Mrs. Maršálková and Mrs. Mucková. Our women participated with success in the local, district and national Spartakiads (national gymnastics festivals) in 1980 - 1985. For transportation of the footballers a bus RTO was bought in 1970's that served them for two years, then it was changed for newer one and it has served up to this day.

At that time Mr. Otypka was elected a chairman. Football playground "V dolíčku" at Dřevoplast started to become unsuitable for its placement and also for the reason of expansing of production programm of the enterprise VD Dřevoplast a building of new sports facility was started. The former swampy terrain was filled with waste materials
from the stone quarry, in three years building of cabins was finished and works on the playground itself were started. All the works on building-up were done by sportsmen and football fans in terms of the action "Z". The playing area itself was built by the firm BESKYDSPORT. Festive opening on 24th June 1989, unfortunately without chairman Mr. Otýpka who did not last out but it took place in memory of him 10 memorial races "of Vladimír Otýpka". The new chairman was since 1986 elected Mr. Muck František and members of the committee Mr. Maršálek, Kurovec, Molnár, Klevar, Ambrož who have performed this work up to this day.

In 1995 a building of asphalt tennis courts began. Footplay club was founded that plays a regular competition at regional level. Another new founded club in 1997 is small football club, this on the present division, the third top competition in the Czech Republic.

Conditions in the men's football club changed as well. Since 1999 the enterpreneur Mr. Hájek - owner of the stone quarry in the village entered the club of physical education. Men playing the III. class advanced in 2000 for the fourth time into the district championship. This year the team made a historical success - namely advancement into the regional compatition I.b. It is the topest competition that has ever been played in Jakubčovice. The old building was superstructured, it will serve for accommodation of Tourists and training camps of sportmen.

Building-up of new playground is planned.

In 2002 it will be 50 years from the foundation of the club of physical education TJ Tatran Jakubčovice, not only we but also the sportmen have to prepare for this anniversary not only with their sport results but only with background.
