Štramberk Castle - Trúba [ Castle or ruin of castle ]
The Štramberk castle was founded at the end of 13th century as a centre of the residual tenure of Lords from Hückeswagen. The core of the castle was formed by a small court with a cylindrical 40 m high tower, which was accessible through a wooden bridge from the second floor of the opposite palace. There used to be a residential building at the place of present Dr. Hrstka´s cottage. The building was rebuilt into a Renaissance chateau in the period of Lords from Žerotín. In the memorial document from 1787 we can read: "About the year of 1782 they started demolishing and ruining the Štramberk castle and very nice spacious rooms in it ..."
