Region of Iron Mountains

The large Jewish town, known as Josefov, lies in the north-west of the Old Town; at the end of the 18th century it comprised 274 residential buildings, 10 synagogues and a range of public buildings.

After the clearance of 1896 - 1911 Jewish quarter was demolished and rebuilt, mainly in the Secession style.
